What’s in a name?

sobycoPR comes from the name of my father’s company Sobyco Electric Supply, Inc. in Hialeah, Florida. The word Sobyco was created from my maiden name, Sobie, combined with “y compania” (and company) – paying homage to my Cuban heritage. Hence, Sobyco Electric. Since electrical supply is not my forté – although anyone who knows me knows I am a pretty handy gal – and I wasn’t going to go into the family business, I asked my father for his blessing in taking the Sobyco name and making it my own. And voilà! sobycoPR was born in April 2014.
